Character List:

Ralph: a likable, sensible boy of twelve

Jack: a cruel, power-hungry redheaded youth

Simon: a skinny, shy, thoughtful nine-year old

Piggy: Ralph's intelligent friend - a fat boy with thick glasses

Roger: Jack Merridew’s right hand - takes part in everything Jack decides to do. Even though Jack is represented as the «bad» person, Roger is really the barbaric one.

Sam and Eric: belong to the littleuns - they are twins, incapable of acting independently

The boy with the mark on his face: one of the littleuns who is the first to speak of the snakes

Percival: Also one of the littleuns. He sulks a lot.

Johnny: one of the older littleuns

The parachutist: lands on the island after being in a plane crash

The naval officer: dressed in a white uniform; the rescuer
