Epitaph
Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale
The guilt destroyed me
I left it bottled up inside
and it ate and burned
away at my body and soul
It was a slow and tormented death
then he came and added to the pain
at first he posed as a healer
soon I knew the truth
but it was too late
he had already extracted his bitter revenge
and I was too deep to come back up
my only hope was to let the truth be known
and hope that god could forgive me.
