It has been named one of the "Top 25 Restaurants in America" by Food & Wine Magazine, given a DiRoNA Award by the Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and honored by Zagat. Since its debut over a decade ago, Campton Place Restaurant has enjoyed a notable reputation for its superb cuisine and elegant atmosphere.
This small, upscale restaurant owes much of its success in part to the expertise of past Chefs
Bradley Ogden and Jan Birnbaum, who have both gone on to open their own restaurants. It was their ability to add new dimensions to contemporary cuisine and willingness to take risks that gained Campton Place Restaurant worldwide recognition and appreciation not only as a fine restaurant on its own, but one that happens to be located in a hotel. Perhaps Campton Place Restaurant has once and for all put to rest all claims that a true gourmet restaurant could never be found in a hotel. And with Todd Humphries currently at the reigns as Executive Chef, Campton Place Restaurant will continue to introduce its diners to exciting fare from new twists on old favorites and cutting edge cuisine to a departure for most gourmet kitchens: the ability to custom-design a meal to a specific request.
Located at Campton Place Hotel in San Francisco, Campton Place Restaurant has recently been renovated by interior designer James Northcutt, who also created its original design, to include a fresh color scheme, new furniture, carpeting, and mirrors to provide an open feeling plus etched-glass panels along the window sill with a pattern depicting a soft curtain hanging on a rod. A number of intriguing lithographs by Stanley Boxer have also been added throughout the restaurant. The Campton Place Restaurant is open daily serving breakfast, lunch and dinner plus brunch on Sunday. Its formal dining area accommodates up to 68 people comfortably. Two spacious dining rooms are also available for private parties hosting up to 16 people. Its menu boasts the finest Contemporary American cuisine and its wine list features a selection of 40 different fine wines-half of which are popular American brands-to choose from. Items from the menu are available for room-service 24-hours a day. And if you don't see what you want on the menu, Chef Humphries will happily create a dish to meet individual specifications on the spot.
