Here's Our Story....
10,000 CHAMPAGNE CORKS HAVE ALREADY POPPED ONTO TRIBECA SINCE THE BUBBLE LOUNGE, NEW YORK'S FIRST CHAMPAGNE BAR OPENED LAST MARCH

August 28, 1996, New York City - The effervescent Bubble Lounge is five months old today and is doing very well thanks to the warm welcoming that followed its bubbly opening on March 28.

Located in the heart of TriBeCa, at 228 West Broadway between White and Franklin Streets, it is New York's first Champagne Bar offering the widest selection of Champagnes and sparkling wines ever put together - 200 different types soon to be 250 for the New Year. The Bubble Lounge has definitely succeeded in offering a sophisticated environment where Champagnes can be discovered and enjoyed.

The Lounge offers 18 different Champagnes and Sparkling Wines by the glass, a full bar and hors-d'oevres such as Tuna, Shrimp and Lobster Spring Rolls, Petrossian delicacies - caviar and smoked fish, a variety of salads and sumptuous desserts. Also, The Bubble Lounge serves oysters and clams on Friday's and will introduce a full Raw Bar in the Fall. La Veuve Cliquot Champagne will present a Jazz Night every Monday with no cover. Finally, The Bubble Lounge is working on an interesting Sunday night starting in the Fall.

Upstairs, the red mahogany bar is inset with cast iron architectural details from the turn of the century. Eight "salons" or lounges feature brocade red velvet-covered sofas and armchairs in shades of red and taupe. Each is named for a famous Champagne or sparkling wine house: Charles Heidsieck, Laurent Perrier, Louis Roederer, Moet & Chandon, Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot and de Venoge.

Downstairs, The Bubble Lounge hosts a separate Krug Room, an exclusive salon for 70 with a bar serving the majestic elixir that has been hand-made by six generations of the Krug Family in Reims, France. In this intimate space - with the feeling of an old chalk cellar - one can admire The Bubble Lounge's entire Champagne inventory through windows leading into the tempered wine room.

The Bubble Lounge is opened seven days a week, 5:30 PM - 4 AM and opens 4:30 PM on Fridays. The Lounge is cigar - friendly and sells a nice variety of cigars. The phone number is 431-3433. It is 4,000 square feet and seats 100 upstairs. The downstairs Krug Room is also available for private parties. Equipped with video monitors, it is an ideal location for fashion shows or special Award Nights events.
