Boy Scouts

Our boy scout troop was on a white river rafting trip when the boat went off course in foggy, hazy, and wet weather. The leader of the scouts fell into the water and was quickly swept away. We managed to reach the shore but to our horror we realized that we were on a deserted island. Being the oldest in the group, the boys turned to me for help.

Trying to hide my own fears, I bravely began to give directions. I started off by telling the boys to pitch their tents and to start a fire so that we would be able to stay warm and in hopes that a plane might spot us. We rationed what little food we had and planned to explore the area in the morning.

By dealing with the most imminent problems such as hunger and shelter, as well as looking at the long term of taking precautions to be rescued, I felt that we had taken full control of the situation and dealt with it in the most logical manner.
